Tips for Getting Through Your First Brazilian Wax

First of all, make sure that you shower just before going to the salon. Not only is this important so that you do not feel self-conscious, it is just polite to the aesthetician. Additionally, when your hair is waxed, each of the follicles is opened. If you have germs lurking in the region, it is very possible that they will get into these openings and cause an infection.
You should find out if any of your medications are going to be a problem before you schedule your appointment. There are several prescriptions that you cannot take during the months leading up to waxing, including Accutane. Additionally, you should avoid over the counter medications that will thin your blood in the days before your waxing. This includes aspirin.
However, you will need something to assist you with the pain. About half an hour before your appointment is scheduled to start, take some ibuprofen. You may want to take more four hours later. This will help with the swelling as well.
Make sure that you are wearing comfortable clothing that is not tight around this part of your body. Your entire pubic area and anywhere that hair was removed will be sensitive for at least a day after the waxing job. Tight clothes can irritate the skin.
Although you know it is going to hurt, try not to focus on that aspect of having the procedure done. The more you think about pain, the more it will control your experience. Instead, think about breathing. Those who are experienced with performing the Brazilian wax are often quite good at distracting the person who is being waxed.
